performance at the 2009 VBODA!

The Monacan High School Band is an organization of students and staff who pride themselves on excellence - excellence in our personal performance, our section's performance, our band's performance, and in the way we represent ourselves and our school. We are proud to be recognized as a 2008 Virginia Honor Band for achieving superior ratings at the state marching festival and district concert festival. This is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a high school band program by the VBODA.

In addition, Monacan has been recognized as a 2008 VMEA Blue Ribbon School for superior performances by the Monacan Symphonic Band, Chorus, and Orchestra at the district festival.

There are a variety of bands with which you can become involved, such as the award winning Marching Chiefs, the Symphonic and Concert Bands, the Jazz Band, the Percussion Ensemble, and the Pep Band.  Parents can also get involved by volunteering to become a part of the Band Boosters.  There are a wide variety of performances and activities occur throughout the year, so look around the site  and check back frequently to see what's happening!
